Training Initiatives to Support Working Parents

  Presenter: Kortney Ross

  Title: Consultant & Trainer

  Organization: Ross Learning Solutions

Employees crave a supportive workplace where they feel valued and appreciated. This is especially true for working parents and caregivers, who comprise a significant majority of the workforce. A supportive and understanding work culture can make all the difference for an overwhelmed parent.

Learning and Development professionals have the opportunity to drive this cultural shift through training initiatives. This session teaches L&D professionals how to elevate the retention of working parents and caregivers, who make up a large majority of the workforce. We’ll explore practical ideas for training initiatives such as leadership development, inclusivity training, and parent resources.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify the unique needs and challenges of working parents and caregivers.
  2. Explain the knowledge and skills managers need to understand, empathize, and support working parents and caregivers.
  3. Summarize what should be included in inclusivity training about working parents and caregivers.
  4. Describe how to create meaningful learning materials and resources for parents and caregivers.
