Conflict in the Workplace

Presented By: Dr. Stacy Myers

President, Advanced Management, Inc.

Networking and lunch: 11:30am

Workshop: 12:00pm - 4:00pm

Join the Smoky Mountain Chapter as Dr. Stacy Myers' presents this engaging and interactive workshop to improve conflict resolution!

Workplace conflict costs American business and industry over $36 billion dollars a year.  And, we have had an 856% increase in workplace conflict over the past five years.  What is causing this alarming trend?  Most researchers say it is due to the pressure to do more with less (create more product or services with less people, time, money, space, etc.).

While this characterization is probably right, there also seems to be an indication that individually, we are less skilled at handling issues that cause us to differ.

Join ATD on the 19th to look at some of the causes of this increase in conflict and also look at our individual tendencies and how we deal with differences.  We all have a style of dealing with conflict; sometimes our style makes the issue worse and sometimes it contributes to our ability to resolve issues constructively.

During this workshop you will:

  1. Learn the latest information about conflict resolution
  2. Complete an assessment of your personal conflict style
  3. Practice with multiple experiential exercises that demonstrate our natural tendencies and surface constructive ways to improve conflict resolution
