As training professionals, we've all faced tough questions from the C-suite about the effectiveness of our organizational and leadership development programs. Most of us have heard questions such as, "What's the impact?" or "How do we know this is working?" Or worse, the heart-stopping, "Why
isn't this working?"
The good news is that understanding the situational challenges of training allows us to employ the right techniques to overcome them and to ultimately deliver the training value that leaders--and trainees--expect.

Darren is a Senior Organizational Effectiveness Practitioner and independent consultant, living in the Knoxville area. He worked for Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) for 20 years, where he led TVA's assessment of culture and designed and implemented a strategic framework for increasing organizational effectiveness across the organization. Within this framework, Darren led the development of a common set of leadership expectations aligned to drivers of employee engagement. He holds a doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology with an emphasis in quantitative methods and leadership from The University of Tennessee. He has reviewed a number of book chapters and has presented at many national conferences. A strong believer in life-long learning, Darren continues to refine and sharpen his insights based on a practical mix of academic research and business experience.
